The word "at-tayyib" is used in the Qur'an and Sunnah to describe actions, good deeds, people, things, speech, etc. This term is used as an adjective. Literally it means something that is good. Ibn Rajab interpreted the word as "at-tahir", which means pure. He Allah Azzawajjal says in the Qur’an: “Verily Allah the Exalted is pure. He does not accept but that which is pure. Allah commands the believers with what He commanded the Messengers. Allah the Almighty has said: "O you Messengers! Eat of the good things and act righteously" [23:51-53]. From this we understand that we cannot provide a service for our community to gain the bounties of Allah through means of impureness by mixing good deeds with some bad, making that which is Haraam into Halaal and vice versa as the end product will not be accepted by Allah (Subhana Wataallah). For example a man who owns a restaurant that serves Halaal food but he also sells Alcohol- his earnings will be Haraam and rejected, likewise we aim to provide the most pure authentic Islamic education with security and care for our students and teachers by avoiding all that may lead to evil and all that maybe of doubt. The obligation of seeking knowledge is always there upon the Muslims, this condition falls on both genders of Male and Female: Ibn Al Jawzi said: “A woman is an accountable individual just as a man is. She is obliged to seek knowledge of her duties so that she may perform them properly." Tayyibun recognises that the vast majority of people have full time commitments that engage and absorb their time ranging from fulltime work, studies, and family, in particular for our sisters certain difficulties are faced as the environment in society at large, in public places, and even amongst Muslims today are not ideal for going on the path of knowledge whilst trying retain their modesty. It is therefore with consideration of all these factors that tend to preoccupy us in mind that Tayyibun aims to serve and assist such Muslims with full time commitments by providing a flexible approach to learning with teaching in a small group capacity bringing education on your own terms, at a time best suitable and convenient to yourself. Who is behind Tayyibun Institute? The Tayyibun Institute consists of a small team of dedicated workers from project management, supervisors, students of Islamic knowledge, etc. This team functions with the guidance of many of the Ustadhs and Shuyukh named on the ‘Our Supporters’ section. |
My dear brothers and sisters at the Tayyibun Institute in the United Kingdom. I ask Allah (swt) that He grants you success and correction in your affairs and I also ask Allah (swt) that He always brings us together upon righteousness…."
